Summary Possession
Thelma, unable to get through to Cassie, resorts to extreme measures. Meanwhile, Cassie is being brutal to Troy.
Cassie enjoys a snooker/pool night with gentle Troy and forbids Thelma to appear again in private contexts, but gets crucial news: Cassie's school bills are paid by a J. MacBain, she must be a descendant of Rachel's dynasty of Medenham witches. Cassie's ma assures her only Azazeal's visions forced her to sent Cassie to the school, and implores her not to resist him in vain. Thelma insists horrible history is repeating itself in Cassie. After Cassie manages to reassure Troy, who was drifting back to Gemma, she still wants him, Azazeal puts his blood on a worm which enters Troy's body trough the ear, and makes her mother give Cassie a 'protective heirloom' pendant which she may never take off, ironically Thelma 'reminds' her to do so. Troy now becomes aggressively protective of Cassie; Thelma concludes from his bloody eyes he's possessed but is disbelieved and called jealous and unwanted, then discovers that very pendant on an estate painting of Rachel, but is too late to warn Cassie, who has already mated Troy, who thus passed on the bloody eyes.
Increasingly worried undead Thelma observes Cassie becoming a mundane party-animal, less friendly and humane. Cassie even toys with sweet lover Troy, embarrassing him publicly with Leon, and jests with Azazeal's human appearance. Thelma decides to electrocute 'total cow' Cassie as therapy, then she meets a fellow ghost, 1920s estate owner's wife Peggy, who only returns to study a Pharaonic inscription in hieroglyphs she still hasn't deciphered completely, the missing cartouche sounding like Azazil! Cassie now even kisses with Azazeal. While the other pupils return home for Christmas, she spends Christmas at school with critical Thelma, whose 'power plans' keep failing, and partying with her new lover, the master of evil. Peggy now tells Thelma from the hieroglyphs that Azazil was a priest who broke the natural order by mating with Pharaoh's daughter Herath- he was banished, she buried alive. Ultimately electrocution by rigging her locker seems to return Cassie to normal, rejecting Azazeal again, he says that's too late.
